MSA Bulletin regarding requirements for Roof and Windscreen Reinforcements.

Posted on 06th April 2018

The changes apply to vehicles only involved in Stage Rallying, which need a competition car log book or vehicle Passport after 1st January 2019 (first issue or re issue)

The requirements are :

ROPS will need to comply with section K, Drawing 10 a or b.

ROPS will need to comply with section K, Drawing 62
(reference drawing 63) and section R 48.10.1

Certified Roll Cages will still need to have these added in those cases outlined above. However, the regulations allow for these to be added without affecting the homologation nationally

Genuine Historics – which mean cars with MSA Historic Rally Vehicle Identity Forms – are exempt. Others, for example a Ford Escort Mk2 built with modern technology to compete in non-historic rallying will need to comply.
